The Keep Roswell Beautiful (KRB) Great Annual Duck Race is back! Each year, KRB sends hundreds of specially trained (plastic) ducks down Big Creek for the annual Duck Race fundraiser. The ducks will “paddle” frantically down the creek to earn a prize for its sponsor. All proceeds go towards the education and stewardship programs that support KRB’s vision of a Roswell with healthy land, clean water, a vibrant environmental culture.
The Great Annual Duck Race takes place on Saturday, October 16 along an 1/8 mile section of Big Creek along the Oxbo Trail, one of Roswell’s most beautiful natural greenspaces. The event runs from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Duck launch time will be at 12:00 PM from the pedestrian bridge over Big Creek. Sponsor tables, food, refreshments, and family-friendly activities will be part of the fun. Parking for the event will be at the lot on Oxbo Road or at Waller Park on Oak Street (a 5-minute walk to Oxbo Trail).
Join in the fun by renting ducks at www.keeproswellbeautiful.org/great-annual-duck-race/, renting them at the event before launch, or look for the KRB table at upcoming Roswell community events such as the Wine Festival. Ducks cost $5/duck, $20/Quacker Pack of 5 ducks, or $40 for A Whole Float of 10 ducks. Cash prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. You do not need to be present to win.
Keep Roswell Beautiful is a 501(c)(3) with the mission to cultivate environmental stewardship in the Roswell community. KRB is a local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful.
